Finding a trusted nurse for a wound dressing or a physiotherapist after surgery in Lebanon often comes down to a WhatsApp forward or a neighbor's phone number. Sohhtak, a new home-care platform built by two Lebanese doctors, wants to replace that guesswork with verified providers and a booking app.
The company was founded by Dr. Georgio Nahed, an orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Hanady Al Haddad, a pediatrician. Both say they repeatedly watched families struggle to arrange safe care at home, whether for wound care, injections, post-operative follow-up, elderly support, or care for newborns.
How the app works
Sohhtak connects patients with verified nurses and physiotherapists who visit them at home. Through the mobile app, patients can browse provider profiles, see the services each one offers, check prices and coverage areas, and then send a request for a visit.
Payment happens on arrival. According to the company, patients face no upfront charges and pay the provider directly once the visit is complete. The app is free to download and lists prices before a booking is confirmed.
The services on offer
Sohhtak currently focuses on core home-care needs. These include nursing care, wound care, injections and IV therapy, post-surgery rehabilitation, elderly care, physiotherapy, and neonatal and postnatal support.
Coverage reaches several Lebanese regions, including Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and Nabatieh. The company notes that availability in each area depends on how many verified providers are active there.
A line to the diaspora
Sohhtak is available on both Android and iOS, and its app supports Arabic and English. That bilingual setup is aimed partly at Lebanese living abroad, who can use it to arrange care for relatives back home. The app is published by SOHHTAK LTD, which is registered in London.
Building the provider network
For now, the team is focused on growing its network of verified nurses and physiotherapists and preparing wider public launch campaigns across Lebanon. The founders describe the goal as becoming a reliable digital entry point for home care in the country, starting with nursing and physiotherapy before expanding.
"Home care in Lebanon should not depend on random contacts," the founders say. "Families deserve to know who is entering their home, what service they provide, and whether they are qualified and trusted."
