Before Superpowders reached supermarket shelves, it was 500 bags of mushroom coffee stacked in a founder's home in Lebanon. Co-founders Youssef Taher and Andy Kazanjian each put in $6,000 and one simple belief: wellness products could do their job and still be exciting.

Three years after its 2023 launch, the Beirut-based brand has sold more than 150,000 units. It serves over 100,000 customers in Lebanon and is stocked in more than 1,000 retail locations across the country.

Electrolytes without sugar, coffee with mushrooms

Superpowders makes functional products for everyday routines. Its core range includes electrolyte sachets with zero sugar and zero calories, made for hydration and performance. Alongside them sits a mushroom coffee, designed as a more functional alternative to regular coffee.

Everything is built to be easy to carry and simple to use. Customers include athletes, gym-goers, busy professionals, and health-conscious people who want something that slots into their day. According to the founders, the edge comes from four things working together: functional nutrition, strong branding, good taste, and convenience.

    A banker's decision to go all-in

For much of the brand's early growth, Youssef was working as an investment banker in Dubai while building Superpowders on the side. In 2026, with the business still growing, he left banking to run the company full time.

He calls it a major personal step, and a sign of how strongly he believes in the brand and its potential.

From one small run to 1,000 shelves

Online, Superpowders quickly became the biggest e-commerce store in Lebanon. Offline, it has expanded its electrolyte range, launched new retail formats, and grown distribution across supermarkets, pharmacies, gyms, convenience stores, and other major retail channels.

That mix of channels means a product that started as a 500-bag experiment is now on shelves nationwide.

Next stops: Saudi Arabia and Jordan

Superpowders now has full presence in Lebanon and the UAE. By the end of October, the brand plans to be in Saudi Arabia and Jordan too, bringing it to four markets.

For Youssef, the lesson is about commitment. "We started with a small budget of $6,000 each and turned this into a multi-million dollar brand," he says.

"We hope this inspires people to believe in their ideas and go all-in. If you feel good about a business idea, go for it. It can change your life."
