Lebanese applicants heading to the UAE will soon be able to handle their visa paperwork without leaving home. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs says an Electronic Visa Center will open in Beirut in October 2026.
The announcement came on September 28 from Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the ministry. He presented the center as part of a wider effort to strengthen ties and cooperation between Lebanon and the UAE.
Visa Steps Done in Lebanon, Not Abroad
In practice, the center will let people in Lebanon complete procedures linked to their UAE visa applications from inside the country. The ministry says the aim is a shorter and more convenient process. Applicants will still need to meet the same rules and requirements set by the relevant UAE authorities.
Officials also linked the project to the UAE's broader shift toward digital government services. According to the ministry, the center will use digital tools to simplify procedures and give applicants a more flexible experience, whether they are inside or outside the UAE.
Location, Fees and Hours Still Unannounced
Several practical details have not been released yet. The UAE has not said where in Beirut the center will be, what its opening hours are, how appointments will work, or what fees it will charge.
It is also not yet clear which visa types and procedures the center will handle. Authorities are expected to share those details as the October opening date gets closer.
