A New Retail Anchor for Koura
Spinneys has opened a new branch in Amioun, the main town of the Koura district in North Lebanon. The store created 150 jobs for people living in the area. It is the supermarket chain's newest location built under its The Hub format.
Amioun is one of North Lebanon's larger towns, with a population that the retailer puts at more than 20,000 residents. The new store is designed to serve shoppers from across the Koura region and the wider north, not only the town itself. Spinneys reported that the branch is expected to serve over 800,000 visitors a year.
What's Inside the 4,400-Square-Meter Store
The Amioun branch spans over 4,400 square meters across three floors. The space combines grocery retail with services, dining, and other in-store experiences. Shoppers move between floors on travelators built into the store.
Beyond fresh groceries, the store carries beauty products, electronics, and everyday services. It also houses food concepts, including a poke bar and a dedicated skin care counter. The mix is meant to turn a supermarket run into a longer visit.
150 Jobs and a Bet on North Lebanon
The 150 new jobs are the headline for the local community, in a region where steady employment has been hard to find. The Amioun opening follows the launch of The Hub in Antelias, which opened about three months earlier.
Hassan Ezzeddine, Chairman of Gray Mackenzie Retail Lebanon, tied the opening to the company's wider plans. "Opening Spinneys The Hub in Amioun is part of our commitment to communities across Lebanon. We're proud to invest in North Lebanon," he said.
