Scalini, the Italian restaurant that has drawn a following in London since the late 1980s, has arrived in Beirut. The brand opens a branch in Downtown Beirut on July 14, 2026, its first location in Lebanon.
Guests will find it next to Joe & The Juice in the Downtown district, according to the restaurant's own announcement. The Beirut launch follows months of build-up on the brand's social channels.
From Chelsea to Beirut
Scalini first opened in 1988 on Walton Street in Chelsea, one of London's more established dining neighborhoods. It built its name on classic Italian cooking served in a setting that stayed elegant without feeling stiff.
Over nearly four decades, the restaurant grew from a local favorite into an international group. Branches now operate in cities across the Gulf and Europe, including Dubai, Doha, Cannes, Bahrain, and Egypt.
What Is on the Menu
The Beirut kitchen keeps the format that made the original popular. Diners can order handmade pastas, fresh seafood, pizzas, antipasti, and classic Italian desserts.
Several of the group's signature dishes have built a loyal audience over the years. That focus on familiar, traditional plates rather than trend-driven menus is a large part of what the Beirut branch is offering.
A New Name in Downtown's Dining Lineup
Downtown Beirut has been rebuilding its roster of restaurants and cafes, and a well-known international name adds weight to that mix. Scalini joins a district that already hosts a range of local and global brands.
For now, the restaurant is pointing diners to its Beirut Instagram account for hours, reservations, and menu details. The Downtown location opens to the public on July 14.
