Qatar suspends visa-on-arrival for Lebanese citizens, requires pre-approved visa before travel

Qatar has temporarily suspended the visa-on-arrival option previously available to Lebanese passport holders. Travelers from Lebanon must now obtain a valid visa issued in advance before boarding and arriving in Qatar.

The change has been communicated to airlines and travel partners, and travelers are being directed to apply electronically through Qatar’s official visa portal, Hayya.

    What changed

Lebanese nationals can no longer receive a visa upon arrival at Qatar’s entry points. Entry now requires a pre-approved visa.

    How to apply

The standard route being referenced is the Hayya platform, which Qatar’s Ministry of Interior describes as the portal that streamlines tourist visa applications and entry permits.

In practice, applicants should be prepared to provide the typical supporting details required by the selected visa type, such as travel and accommodation information, then wait for approval before traveling.

What to do before you fly

Travel partners are advising Lebanese passengers to carry a printed copy of the visa approval confirmation to present at entry/border checks.

If you’re traveling soon, also verify your visa status and document requirements with your airline at check-in, since boarding can be refused if the pre-approval isn’t available.

    Timing

Authorities have described the measure as temporary in published reporting, but no end date has been formally announced in the same coverage.
