Metal Gainz, a Beirut supplement and activewear brand founded in 2024, has launched Hydrait Creatine + Electrolytes, a lemon lime daily drink mix that the company says is the first of its kind launched in Lebanon. Each 8g stick holds 5g of creatine monohydrate, 1g of taurine and a blend of electrolytes, with zero sugar. You pour one into water and drink it once a day.
A routine that kept breaking
The idea started with co-founder Kareem Rafei. He began taking creatine but struggled to drink the 2 to 3 liters of water a day it calls for, so he stopped. His co-founder Akram Kais suggested adding electrolytes, and the routine finally held.
When the two, both chemical engineering alumni of the American University of Beirut, looked around, they saw the same pattern. Most of their friends and family had quit creatine for exactly that reason. So they set out to build one stick that mixes easily into water, tastes good and ends the habit of juggling separate creatine and electrolyte tubs.
"Most people I know quit creatine because they couldn't drink enough water," Rafei said. "Hydrait puts creatine, electrolytes and taurine in one stick, so taking it every day is actually easy."
What goes into each stick
Every stick contains 5,000mg of creatine monohydrate and 1,000mg of taurine. The electrolyte side is 280mg of sodium, 130mg of potassium and 25mg of magnesium, with 0g of sugar. A box holds 30 sticks, one for each day of the month.
Quality customers can check
Metal Gainz wants its quality to be something buyers can verify, not just take on trust. Hydrait is Halal certified and is made in an NSF certified, GMP, FDA-registered facility. Independent third-party testing with Eurofins, covering creatine content and heavy metals, is in progress.
From athletes to parents
Hydrait is aimed at a wide group: athletes, gym beginners, busy professionals, parents and women over 30. Alongside supplements, Metal Gainz sells activewear for people who train, work hard and want to feel better every day. It delivers across Lebanon with cash on delivery.
Long term, the founders want Metal Gainz to become Lebanon's first homegrown supplement brand, one whose quality people can check for themselves.
