L'Auberge de Tyr has reopened its doors, bringing one of South Lebanon's best known hospitality destinations back to life after months of war-related closure. The reopening was reported by Beirut.com on July 6.
Sitting on a hillside overlooking the coastal city of Tyre, the resort has operated since 2019 and built a loyal following for weekend stays, family staycations, and day visits. Its latest closure followed what was reported as more than 40 days of devastating war in the South.
From Riding Club to 20-Room Resort
L'Auberge de Tyr started out as a modest equestrian club before expanding into a full hospitality destination. The property today includes 20 accommodations, six swimming pools, an animal park, horseback riding facilities, and a restaurant overlooking the surrounding landscape.
Horses remain part of the identity. Riding facilities stayed central to the resort even as the pools, rooms, and restaurant were added around them.
A Second Comeback in Under Two Years
This is not the resort's first recovery. L'Auberge de Tyr previously reopened in December 2024, after a closure reported at more than 60 days during the war that hit South Lebanon that year. Reopening twice in under two years puts the resort among the more persistent operators in a region where many businesses have had to rebuild repeatedly.
Tyre's Summer Season Gets a Boost
For Tyre, the timing matters. The reopening lands in the middle of Lebanon's summer season, when domestic tourism and diaspora visits drive much of the South's hospitality revenue.
Local businesses across South Lebanon have been resuming operations as the region rebuilds, and hospitality reopenings like this one bring back jobs, suppliers, and visitor spending. Bookings are available again through the resort's website.
