For more than ten years, Feryal El Moghraby watched the same problem repeat itself. Organizations with real ideas and real impact kept missing out on funding, not because the work was weak, but because they could not find the right opportunities, did not have the capacity to write strong proposals, or lacked clear information about what donors actually wanted.
She decided to build a tool to fix that. The result is NOVAI, an AI platform that helps nonprofits, charities, foundations, and social enterprises find funding and improve their chances of winning it.
What NOVAI Actually Does
NOVAI, short for Network of Opportunities, Value, Aid, and Innovation, brings several steps of the funding process into one platform. It helps organizations discover funding opportunities, assess whether they are eligible, and develop proposals that line up with what donors are looking for.
When an organization needs human expertise, NOVAI connects it to specialists through an expert marketplace. The platform runs in Arabic, English, and French, so teams across different regions can use it in their own working language.
From NGO Consultant to Founder
El Moghraby is an international NGO consultant, trainer, and social entrepreneur. She also mentors at the Sorbonne University Incubator's Entrepreneurial Humanities Program. Her career has been spent supporting NGOs, social enterprises, and development actors across the Middle East and Africa.
That work showed her where good organizations kept getting stuck. Many had the mission but not the donor intelligence, the proposal-writing capacity, or the access to the right opportunities. She built NOVAI to close that gap and let those teams spend less time hunting and more time on their actual mission.
"At NOVAI, we believe that no powerful idea should remain unfunded because of limited access to information, tools, or expertise," she said. "Our mission is to use AI to make funding more accessible, more efficient, and more equitable for organizations creating positive change around the world."
Where the Company Stands Now
NOVAI has onboarded organizations from several countries across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. It recently set up its Research and Development department in France, building out its innovation work and its presence in Europe, and joined the French Tech community of high-growth startups.
The company has also been selected for the ESA Business School and HEC Paris Entrepreneur Journey Program, which supports startups working on growth, leadership, and international expansion. Alongside the platform, NOVAI runs AI for Non-Profits training and awareness sessions in several countries to help organizations use artificial intelligence responsibly.
The Next Stops
NOVAI has been picked for a run of major innovation events, including Web Summit Qatar, GITEX Africa in Marrakech, and ChangeNOW in Paris. Next, it will show its platform at Viva Technology 2026 in Paris, one of the largest technology and startup gatherings in the world. The company is also continuing to grow its expert marketplace, adding vetted specialists who can step in with sector knowledge when an organization needs it.
