The Lebanese construction toy Beaver has won the ToyAward 2026 at Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg, the largest toy fair in the world. It is the first time an Arab company has taken the prize.
Given each year at the Nuremberg fair, the ToyAward is often called the Oscar of the toy industry. An international jury picks the products it considers the most original and best executed in their category. Beaver was named the top toy for 2026.
A construction kit built around a real wood cutter
Beaver is a hands-on educational kit aimed at kids aged nine and up. Instead of plastic blocks that snap together, it gives children real wooden sticks, a set of smart link connectors, and a safe cutter that lets them slice the sticks to size. The first kit ships with more than 100 pieces and an instruction manual featuring 22 designs, including a scooter, a bicycle, a catapult, a telescope, a crane, and a balance scale.
The workflow is short. Kids measure the stick, tighten the clamp, rotate the cutter, then connect the cut piece with a smart link. Once they learn the four steps, they can follow the manual or build whatever they imagine. The sticks are made from eco-friendly wood.
Already inside Lebanese classrooms
Beaver also runs an education program in schools through the Beaver Curriculum, an interdisciplinary model that uses the kit to teach math, physics, science, history, and geography through building. The company says it is designed to strengthen problem solving, early engineering, divergent thinking, and motor skills.
The product is designed and made in Lebanon. Listed commercial partners include TMG and JouéClub.
The first Arab winner at Nuremberg
Spielwarenmesse runs in Nuremberg every year and is the main meeting point for toy manufacturers, retailers, and buyers worldwide. The ToyAward is decided by an international jury at the fair. No Arab company had taken it before Beaver.
